Pence appoints Berry as Rep. chair

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Gov. Mike Pence selected Tim Berry as the new Indiana Republican Party chairman on Wednesday.

Berry currently serves as the state auditor. He has served in that capacity since Jan. 1, 2007.

Pence says Berry is a cheerful leader who is well known. He says Berry will help the Republican party grow toward the goal of making Indiana ‘the state that works.’

Indiana Senate President Pro Tem David Long says the selection is a rock solid choice. Berry is competent, well-spoken and understands the state’s political landscape.

Misty Dees Hollis will serve as the party’s vice chairwoman. Pence campaign manager Kyle Robertson will be GOP executive director.
