INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Several gun owners gathered at the Statehouse Friday morning to protest against gun control.
The visitors, many who brought their own guns, say their complaint is with the federal government and the Obama administration’s plans to ban assault rifles. They decided to gather at the state capitol hoping their message will get relayed to Washington by state lawmakers.
“We need to make them aware of how we feel and they'll pass it on, you know, that's their job,” said gun owner Mark Dean.
“If we're allowing anybody to take a little bit the end goal is to take all and I'm here to stand up to the little bit they're taking,” said Troy Dean, another gun owner. “I don't want anything.”
Meanwhile, Indiana Congressman Marlin Stutzman is proposing a new federal law that would allow someone with a permit to carry a concealed gun in his home state to legally carry a concealed gun in other states with permit laws.
