Cash-strapped Mourdock blames "liberal media"

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Treasurer Richard Mourdock is accusing the media of sinking his run for the Senate as he looks to pay down campaign debt.

Mourdock campaign finance director Ashlee Walls wrote in an email to supporters Tuesday saying the Republican Senate candidate was "caught in the liberal media cross hairs." She's asking for donations to cover remaining bills.

Mourdock lost to Democrat Joe Donnelly last month in the race for Sen. Richard Lugar's seat. Mourdock's comments in an October debate that rape resulting from pregnancy is "something God intended" dominated coverage during the final weeks of the race. Mourdock refused to apologize for the remark, and Democrats spent heavily for ads repeating it for voters.

Donnelly's surprise victory helped Democrats build a 55-45 seat edge in the incoming Senate.

This man is a complete idiot and apparently not a very good business man. Here's the thing, think what you might about the concepts BEHIND what he said...there is much room to debate these topics...the fact is, WHAT a public figure actually says has always been used by the public to judge that figure. Politicians have to pursuade, have to maintain credibility with peers, etc. This guys was such a dope that not only did he not realize that but he was proud of the fact that he said any dopey thing that popped into his pea-brain. A true American Moron of the first order.

Muurdock lost because he was a teabagger. His comment saying that he wanted to "INFLICT MY OPINION" cost him the election.

Indiana and the Senate is the big loser. Mr. Mourdock would have been a tremendous asset.

Just shows how much of a loser he really is.
