INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The inauguration ceremony for Gov.-elect Mike Pence will be held Jan. 14 at the Indiana Statehouse.
Pence's staff announced Monday that Pence would be sworn into office during a ceremony open to the public but that registrations would be required. Those registrations will be accepted starting in mid-December.
Activities preceding the inauguration include a family event at the Dallara IndyCar Factory near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Jan. 12 and a black-tie optional inaugural ball that night at the JW Marriott hotel in downtown Indianapolis. Pence is also to attend a worship service Jan. 13 at Butler University's Clowes Memorial Hall.
The Republican congressman won election last month to take the place of term-limited Gov. Mitch Daniels.
