INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Retiring state Rep. Jeff Espich is joining the Pence administration as legislative advisor.
Governor-elect Mike Pence announced Thursday in a news release that Espich would serve as senior advisor for legislative affairs. Espich announced in February that he wouldn’t be seeking re-election, ending a 40-year career in the Statehouse. He had also served as the top Republican budget writer for 15 years.
“His knowledge of the budget and the legislative process will make him an invaluable addition to our legislative team,” Pence said in the news release.
Espich said he was honored to fill the role.
“I look forward to serving Hoosiers in all corners of the state and helping the governor-elect implement his agenda to continue to lead Indiana on a path to success.
