INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — On the streets of Indianapolis and over the talk radio airwaves Wednesday, some were outraged by Richard Mourdock's rape comments, but others agreed.
“Either life begins at conception or it doesn't. And if you choose one you go one way. If you choose the other, you go the other way. But I'm having a hard time understanding what the stink is. The man has believed that life begins at conception for a long time,” said WIBC radio host Greg Garrison.
"I wouldn't believe God would have his hand in anything evil. I don't either. So I find it hard to believe that that conception wouldn't come from an evil place," said a woman on Monument Circle.
“He went too far,“ said another woman.
As of 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, an unscientific WISH-TV online poll showed five percent of those who responded said they’re more likely to vote for Mourdock now. 21 percent said “less likely,” and 28 percent said they were already voting for Mourdock. 45 percent say they had already planned not to vote for him.
