Democrats weigh in on White's job

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana Democrats say they will try next week to have their losing candidate installed as the state's elections chief.

A jury found Secretary of State Charlie White guilty of six felony voter fraud-related charges, disqualifying him from office early Saturday morning.

Republican Governor Mitch Daniels appointed White's chief deputy, Jerry Bonnet, as interim secretary of state later on Saturday.

Chairman Dan Parker tells The Associated Press that state Democrats will seek to have their 2010 candidate Vop Osili certified as secretary of state next week.

A civil judge has ordered the state to declare Osili the winner, saying White was ineligible.

The appointment would ordinarily be up to the Republican governor, but the anticipated legal fight could reach the state Supreme Court.

IndyRon When it comes to ethics/morals or respect Mitch Daniels is flat broke.

When are activist judges like Louis Rosenberg, ever going to realize they don't get to legislate from the bench? Ex Post Facto laws are against both the US and Indiana Constitutions. Indiana Code REQUIRES the Governor, to make an appointment of the same political party. Both the Judge and Daniels need to follow the law.

What elections did this guy preside over? Is there an implication of election rigging or is this just a technicality issue?
